Cake, glorious cake!

We are delighted to announce that we have been asked to partner with The Cake Initiative. The Cake Initiative is a fantastic organisation with a team of wonderful volunteer bakers who make delicious and imaginative birthday cakes for struggling families free of charge. We are looking forward to sharing photos and stories of the beautiful cakes they make for some of the children Welcare supports.

More info from Laura, Co-Founder and Director, The Cake Initiative:

At The Cake Initiative, we believe that every child deserves a birthday cake, regardless of their situation. Our amazing volunteers are on-hand to lovingly bake and gift birthday cakes to the children of financially struggling families.

After starting out as a team of 3 in July 2021, we have now grown to over 350 voluntary bakers based across the UK – and we are still growing fast!

As of April 2022 we have gifted over 230 birthday cakes and postal bakes to children of financially struggling families, something we are extremely proud of! And we can’t wait to support Welcare and the families that rely on your kindness too!
