Volunteers’ Week is back, and this national celebration of volunteering continues to shine a light on the incredible work carried out by volunteers across the UK.
We’re proud to be part of this celebration, joining thousands of charities and voluntary organisations in recognising the time, talent, and commitment of those who give so generously to support others.
This week is our chance to say thank you and to share with our wider community just how much of a difference our volunteers make. Quite simply, we couldn’t do what we do without them.
Our volunteers come from a diverse range of backgrounds including our dedicated trustees, who contribute their time and professional expertise to guide and support the charity, to our wonderful parish representatives and friends who keep the connection with local churches alive and organise an inspiring calendar of fundraising events: theatre evenings, concerts, lent lunches, afternoon teas, carol singing, quizzes and more.
At our Redhill centre, we’re especially grateful to the brilliant team of volunteers who help support the delivery of our group work programmes and day-to-day admin. Over the past year, we’ve also welcomed corporate volunteers from Aviva, students from East Surrey College and most recently fantastic teams from St Margaret’s, Chipstead, who have been busy repairing and revitalising our outdoor and play areas.
To every one of our volunteers – thank you. Your time, energy and compassion are truly the heart of Welcare. You make all the difference.
