Leave a Legacy in your will

We are privileged if we can leave a mark of our passing, to be remembered by those people and causes we have cared for in life.
Help Create Brighter Futures for Children and Families

A gift in your will to Welcare is one of the most valuable and lasting ways you can support our work.

By leaving a gift in your will, you can help create a world where every child and family is respected, included and resilient, able to overcome life’s challenges. Your generosity will help our staff and volunteers continue making a lasting difference to vulnerable children and families across South London and East Surrey.

Your legacy can help transform lives for generations to come.

Why Leave a Gift to Welcare

For more than 130 years, Welcare has supported children and families facing challenges such as domestic abuse, parental conflict, mental ill health, social isolation, and financial hardship. We provide practical and emotional support that helps families build confidence, resilience and hope for the future.

A gift in your will helps ensure that this vital support remains available for future generations.

The Difference Your Legacy Can Make

Legacy gifts allow us to:

  • Provide one-to-one family support.
  • Support children and parents recovering from domestic abuse.
  • Deliver group programmes for children and parents.
  • Help families access emergency grants and practical assistance.
  • Create safer, stronger and more resilient family relationships.

Every gift, whatever its size, can make a meaningful and lasting impact.

See the difference Welcare makes every day. Read stories from the children and families we support on our Families we’ve helped page.

Ways to Leave a Gift
There are several ways to include Welcare in your will:

Residuary Gift
A residuary gift is a share, or percentage, of your estate after gifts to family and friends have been distributed. This is often the most effective form of legacy giving because it can retain its value over time.

Pecuniary Gift
A pecuniary gift is a specific sum of money left to Welcare in your will.

Specific Gift

A specific gift is a particular item, property or asset that you choose to leave to Welcare.

Gifts left to charities are generally exempt from inheritance tax. We recommend seeking advice from a solicitor when making or updating your will.

Updating an Existing Will

If you already have a will and would like to include Welcare, your solicitor may be able to help you add a gift using a codicil. This allows you to update your will without creating a completely new one.

A Legacy of Hope

Every day, Welcare helps families overcome challenges and build brighter futures. Legacy gifts help ensure that children and families continue to receive the support they need for years to come.

Thank you for considering leaving a gift in your will to Welcare. Your generosity will help us continue supporting families through life’s challenges and create brighter futures for children and parents.
