Welcare is a family support charity working with families and children up to the age of 13 in South London and East Surrey.
The focus of our work is to provide practical and emotional support and advice, individual one-to-one work and group work programmes. We work alongside parents and carers helping them use their strengths and skills to nurture secure and confident children.
Our services are driven by our Christian values, and we work with those of all faiths and none; our sole aim is to help those in greatest need.

The family were referred by their Local Authority for early help support due to concerns around safety, emotional wellbeing and parenting pressures.

After a devastating house fire caused by a faulty tumble dryer, Shannon and her three children, Shayla (13), Kayley (10) and Ryan (7), suddenly found themselves living in temporary accommodation.

Amara (aged 10) was referred to Welcare by her school’s pastoral team to take part in the Capability in Schools programme.
