Chris Elliott, new Welcare Chair of Trustees, welcomed Bobby (pictured) and Peter Johnson to the Welcare Centre in Redhill this week to unveil a plaque marking an unexpected legacy gift.
This week, Welcare staff held the final graduation class of the most recent Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities course.
After a break of two years, it was wonderful to be able to gather on the 19th of November at Bromley Parish Church for the Annual Service of Thanksgiving for the work of Welcare in Bromley. 
We are delighted to welcome Christopher Elliott as the new Chair of Trustees for Welcare.
On Sunday 25 July, the largest closed-road running event in London since the March 2020 lockdown took place through central London. Welcare was proudly represented by one of our most loyal and hard-working supporters, Sue Floyd, and two friends Queen and Ngozi who all represented Welcare and raised funds for our work.
This August, with thanks to funding from Sherborne in the Community, Welcare ran its Summer Programme for children ages 6-13, at St John's Community Centre in Inner London.
This summer, with a little help from Merlin’s Magic Wand, we were able to help over 30 families in SW London.
We are delighted to announce our 2021 Summer Activity Project will take place from Monday 9th - Friday 13th August this year!
In our Redhill Family centre, playworker Hina has embraced the lifting of restrictions by implementing a Covid-safe group for new mothers who have been feeling isolated through lockdown.
The head of an independent review has described English children’s services system as “a tower of Jenga held together by Sellotape”.  According to Josh MacAlister the system needs major reform and investment, and is currently "bureaucratic, risk-averse, financially strained, and over-focused on investigating potential abuse and neglect at the expense of providing practical support for struggling families."
