What is Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities?
Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities (SFSC) is an inclusive, evidence-based parenting programme developed by the Race Equality Foundation. It is designed to support parents and carers in raising confident, resilient children while fostering stronger family and community relationships.

Aims of the programme
The Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities (SFSC) programme aims to:
- Enhance parent-child relationships through positive communication and emotional connection
- Build parental confidence by equipping carers with practical tools and strategies
- Reduce stress and conflict within the home environment
- Nuture a sense of belonging and community among families from diverse backgrounds
Sessions are interactive, supportive, and culturally sensitiveโwelcoming families from all backgrounds and experiences.
Who is it For?
We welcome:
- Parents, carers, and guardians with at least one child aged 0โ13
- Parents of children withย SEND andย neurodiversity are also welcomeย
- Families navigating separation, co-parenting, or blended households
- Individuals seeking to improve communication and reduce conflict with their children and or co-parent
Whether you’re a first-time parent or have years of experience, SFSC offers tools and insights to help you thrive.

What Participants Can Expect
Each course includes:
- Weekly group sessions led by trained facilitators
- Practical strategies for everyday parenting challenges
- Opportunities to share experiences and build peer support
- A safe, non-judgmental space to learn and grow
How to Make a Referral
We deliver this group for Richmond and Wandsworth families, and accept referrals from professionals and directly from parents.
