Enjoying Groups Again

Welcare in East Surrey is once again delighted to have received funding from the Reigate & Banstead small grants programme for an area of urgent need.  We are all aware of the detrimental impact Covid restrictions have had on parents and young children and we felt it important that we were able to offer a range of activities for parents of little ones to come to.  This would give parents the opportunity to meet together, to develop support  networks, and for the children to meet others in a group environment.

We were delighted that Councillor Sue Sinden (pictured) and Councillor Stephen McKenna championed our bid for £2000 in order that we could organised a series of free events at Welcare covering a range of pre-school age groups and activities. As a direct result of the funding we have been able to offer several free Baby Massage courses, an Emergency First Aid session,  5 weeks of Songs & Stories sessions, and a 5 week Sing & Sign course.  Because we work in partnership with 3 other local Family Centres, we have made the funding available to them and Baby Massage, First Aid and a Music Group are running at these other centres too.

Thank you Reigate & Banstead council for once again providing funding to allow Welcare in East Surrey to be responsive to local need.
