Volunteers’ Week is a national celebration of volunteering and the enormous contribution volunteers make to society. In 2024 alone, volunteering was estimated to have added £4.6 billion in productivity gains to the UK economy.
We are proud to be part of this celebration, joining thousands of charities and voluntary organisations in recognising the time, talent and commitment of those who give so generously to help and support others.
Volunteers’ Week is an opportunity for us to say thank you and to share with our wider community the difference our volunteers make every day.
Our volunteers come from many different backgrounds and play a vital role across the charity. This includes our dedicated trustees, who generously share their time and professional expertise to help guide and support Welcare’s work. We are also grateful to our wonderful parish representatives and friends, who help maintain our links with local churches and organise an inspiring programme of fundraising events, including theatre evenings, talks, concerts, Lent lunches, afternoon teas, carol singing, and quizzes.
At our Redhill centre, we are especially thankful to the brilliant team of volunteers who support the delivery of our group work programmes and assist with day-to-day administration.
