We are delighted to share that Christina and Mark Turner, affectionately known as Team Turner, have received the Reigate & Banstead Team Volunteer Award 2026 from the Mayor of Reigate & Banstead, Councillor Nick Harrison. This fantastic achievement is a fitting recognition of their outstanding contribution to the local community and to Welcare.
Christina and Mark are a remarkable volunteer partnership whose dedication, generosity and teamwork have made a lasting difference to the children, families, staff and volunteers who use Welcare’s services.
Since joining Welcare in 2019, Christina has provided invaluable weekly administrative support and a warm welcome to families attending our drop-in playgroup sessions. Mark joined the team in 2022, generously sharing his practical skills to carry out maintenance work, repairs and improvements that help keep our environment safe and welcoming.
Together, they truly embody the spirit of volunteering. Over the past year, Team Turner dedicated countless hours to transforming Welcare’s outdoor space, tackling overgrown areas, clearing debris and creating a more accessible and enjoyable environment for everyone who visits. Their energy, commitment and willingness to go above and beyond have had a significant impact on our charity and the families we support.
We are incredibly proud to see Christina and Mark’s dedication recognised through this well-deserved award.
