Team Welcare smashes Asics 10k

A team of 6 took on the Asics London 10k in aid of Welcare yesterday, and did us proud in spite of the heat!

Julian, Justyna, Alison, Tom, Cameron and Yuki were among 9000 participants in Sunday’s event.

Participants followed a closed route past some of London’s most iconic landmarks, with music and crowds cheering them along the way.

After crossing the finish line, participants met up with staff and supporters for a well deserved celebratory drink.

With an average time of 59:45, and our fastest runner coming in at a PB of just 35:15 (well done, Tom!), Team Welcare went home tired but happy, having raised nearly £1500 in the build up to the event.

We may not beat our former fundraising record of £6000 but, with a few last minute drop outs and last minute sign ups, we’re grateful for all we have raised so far! Our fundraising page at JustGiving.com will remain open this week, for anyone who would like to make a donation – there’s still time!
