Picnic in the Park

Welcare’s free summer family picnic in the park was very well attended. 45 children from 35 families enjoyed the vast amount of activities planned by Welcare playworker, Hina Khan, providing fun and the opportunity to learn outdoors. It was suitable for all ages. Families brought their own picnics and gathered together to celebrate summer. Parent and carer feedback was very positive. Several families suggested these outdoor sessions should happen more regularly as they benefit the wellbeing of the whole family. Two sisters had made a special cake for our Welcare picnic, to say thank you for the groups and support we offer children and families. We were very moved by this thoughtful gesture. A good time was had by all.
