Welcare renews Investing in Volunteers

Following a recent assessment, Welcare is proud to have renewed its award status for Investing in Volunteers for another 3 years.

Welcare currently has 41 volunteers working across various roles, including:

    • Groupwork assistants
    • Family support volunteers
    • Mentors
    • Administrative volunteers
    • Community volunteers

Our volunteer roles are varied, and we work with volunteers to allow each indivudual to play to their own strengths. Many of our volunteers undertake more than one role, and some have started in one role then developed in to other roles.

Welcare was first assessed against the IiV Standard in 2015, back then our number of volunteers was 26. We have been steadily growing our volunteer base since then, investing more into training and working collaboratively with a team of volunteers which now outnumbers our staff!
