Welcare launches #CapeAbility campaign!

Welcare’s newest (and most fun) fundraising campaign has now launched for summer 2019!

The #CapeAbility campaign is centred around the three key themes of Thrive, Care & Inspire.

Using the theme of capes and superheroes, it appeals to children and works creatively with popular culture in a world where children are often the smallest and least powerful.

You can follow along with the campaign, (and see what our little heroes are up to!) by following us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

125 years of Thrive, Care, Inspire

Next month, Welcare celebrates its 125th anniversary in a Service at Southwark Cathedral. During this celebration we will look back on a legacy of over a century helping families and children overcome challenges, and move forwards with the skills and resilience they need to improve their lives.

#CapeAbility celebrates this work, making it relevant for a new generation, with themes and motifs which lend themselves to a classroom or church environment, including:

  • What do we need to thrive?
  • How can we show care to others?
  • What inspires me?
  • What do heroes look like?

We hope to learn from CapeAbility participants this year, in order to build on this campaign and inspire more young people in coming years.
