Chief Executive

Anne-Marie started working for Welcare in 1992 and became the Director in 1999. When the organisation merged into a single charity in April 2005, her job title changed to Chief Executive. Anne-Marie works closely with the Board of Trustees and has overall responsibility for the direction and delivery of the service.
Anne-Marie is a qualified social worker and prior to Welcare held managerial posts in the statutory and voluntary sectors. She is also an ordained priest and serves in a part time capacity in the Caterham Team Ministry in the Diocese of Southwark.
Director of Development

Chris Price joined Welcare in December 2007, with over 15 years experience in the voluntary sector of directing, managing and developing award winning projects in health and the environment as well as children and families.
Chris's main responsibilities are to look for new opportunities for work, marketing, co-ordinate tenders and keep track of funding applications. He also directly manages the Family Group Meetings service. Outside of work, Chris is active in his local Methodist Church as a local Preacher, Youth and Cub Leader. His aspirations as a child were always to play for Aston Villa, to be in a rock band and to do a bungee jump - well two out of three ain't bad!
Director of Finance & Resources

Atawa Aryee joined Southwark Diocesan Welcare in September 2005. She is a qualified member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. She has over 12 years of senior management and financial management experience within the voluntary sector.
She has responsibilities for financial management, ICT and property management at Welcare. She shares responsibilities for the strategic direction, planning and development of Welcare with the Director of Operations and the Chief Executive.
Administrative Officer (HR)

Carol has worked at Welcare's central office since 1987. As Administrative Officer (HR) she is responsible for the human resources work of the organisation, which currently employs 81 staff.
Management Accountant

Edmore Gunzvenzve joined Welcare in July 2007 as the new Management Accountant with more than 3 years experience of working for the Not for Profit Sector. He qualified as an ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) member in March 2009.
His main duties include; preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasting and management and collection of income from Funders. In addition to assisting the Director of Finance he also works closely with the Finance Officer maintaining robust financial and non-financial systems.
Finance Officer

Bill started on a one day week basis in 2003, and is now full time. He deals with all banking matters for all of the Welcare centres, and reports to Atawa Aryee as Financial Director.
Marketing & Fundraising Officer

Sharon joined the Central Team in April 2006 working part time Wednesday to Friday. She has worked for four years in the charity sector as an administrator and previous to that worked in the clothing sector as a Merchandiser.
Until recently Sharon’s work role varied to complement the other team members but mainly she worked to provide admin support to the Operations Development and Finance Directors. Now she has taken on new responsibilities for the marketing and fundraising in the organisation.
Clerk to the Board and Quality Co-ordinator

Lucy joined Welcare in August 2009. She is responsible for servicing the board and committee meetings for Welcare and for developing and ensuring Policies and Procedures across Welcare. Before coming to Welcare she was travelling the world, and before that she was Asst Company Secretary for the Parkinson’s Disease Society.
Operations Director

Hugh Salmon joined Welcare in June 2009, initially to manage the Family Support Service in Lewisham. He has been working as Operations Director since April 2010. He is a GSCC registered Social Worker, with 15 years professional experience in both statutory and voluntary sectors, in settings ranging from child protection and adoption to asylum seekers and service user involvement. During this time he has also spent several years working in Eastern Europe and Central Asia as a trainer, consultant and programme manager.
His role in Welcare currently includes responsibility for Welcare’s services in Wandsworth, Croydon, Bromley, as well as the Child Contact Service.
Centre Administrator

Jade joined Welcare as the new Centre Administrator in September 2009. Covering both central office and the Lambeth team, Jade has office management and general administration responsibilities. With 3 years experience in the international development and educational charitable sectors, she also previously worked in the NHS as a Quality and Outcomes Framework Administrator.
Staff Development and Training Co-ordinator

Kate has been with Welcare since 2005, initially working as a Social Worker for our Lambeth centre. Before coming to Welcare, she was working as a Social Worker in a LAC Team (Looked After Children) in Wandsworth Social Services.
Since then, her job has changed a few times, for instance providing a Social Work service to Southwark SSD, & has completed further training in Practice Education. Last year she took on a new post of Welcare’s Student and Training Co-ordinator for two days a week. As of May 2010 Kate took on a new part-time role as the Extended Schools Project based in Welcare in Wandsworth.
Operations Director

Lorna has worked for Welcare since June 2006. Lorna is a qualified social worker, counsellor and trainer having worked in the voluntary sector of a number of years.
As Operations Director she is responsible for the operation and strategic development of Welcare centres in East Surrey, Richmond, Greenwich, and Lambeth. Other responsibilities include;
• Chairing the OMT meeting where information is shared and disseminated to staff teams, it is also an opportunity to share ideas, learn and raise concerns.
• Offering monthly supervision to managers, including joint supervision to social workers for case discussion and practice development within the centres.
• Negotiating new work with local authorities and in collaboration with team members work on fundraising bids for major grants. This also involves raising the Welcare profile by contributing to forums with local authorities.
• She is a member of the Good Practice Committee, and has some lead responsibility for practice development.
