Family Group Meetings - The only meeting of its kind in the world
Sounds dramatic but this is a meeting between a family experiencing problems and a referrer, possibly Children’s Services, who have concerns about the child or children.
They want to know what the parents are going to do about the situation. A Family Group Meeting gets as many family and friends as possible together to meet with the referrer to sort out the problems. There is a part of the meeting where the “Family” are left on their own to produce a Plan of action. This is the bit that makes the meeting so unique.
We offer the service of setting up Family Group Meetings also known as Conferences to Local Authorities. Currently we are serving several London Boroughs on a contractual or Spot Purchasing arrangement.
We average 250-300 meetings per year.
We have twenty coordinators covering various cultural and ethnic backgrounds. They have regular supervision.
We have been doing meetings for over twelve and a half years at this time of writing [Dec.2009]
