Social work
Welcare’s qualified social workers help families referred to us by social care professionals.
They provide individual advice, financial and emotional support and informal counselling for families with children up to eight years old (and sometimes older), where there is a risk of a family’s situation deteriorating.
They work alongside parents to enable them to make choices, develop skills and strategies for coping and achieve a greater degree of autonomy and independence, thus enhancing their overall quality of life.
Welcare social workers provide family sessions and work directly with children too. They also offer individual and sometimes group support to people who have experienced domestic abuse.
Social workers work closely with statutory authorities to support families who might otherwise need more intensive intervention.
There was always someone to talk to at Welcare.
