Welcare is a Christian Charity, which works preventatively with children and families in need, irrespective of faith, culture, abilities or life choices, to achieve a better quality of life for children and families.

Queen's Award for Voluntary Service

Generation Link, Welcare's flagship volunteer project in Lambeth, has received the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service. This annual award, created in 2002 to mark the Queen's Golden Jubilee, recognises the vital role played by the many unsung heroes of the voluntary and community world. Generation Link's 61 volunteers provdide support and counsel to 51 familes and 139 children each year. For more details, contact Felicity Couch on 020 7820 7910.

Children's Centres

Welcare in Wandsworth has won three new contracts to deliver services from their local Children's Centre in Tooting - Family Support, Parent Involvement and Group Work. All services are now up and running. New family support work, and premises improvement, is also taking place at Welcare in Richmond as part of the Children's Centre in Twickenham. Welcare in East Surrey is becoming the new Redhill Children's Centre; the Children's Centre Co-ordinator takes up her post in late June.
