The Friends of Welcare in Bromley are an informal group of about 70 people who are committed to supporting the work of Welcare in Bromley and whose primary aim is to raise funds for them.
These funds are raised through regular financial support by subscription and donation, and by events arranged by the Friends. The minimum subscription is £10, but many give more than this. In 2009-2010 (the latest year for which figures are available) over £6500 was raised, from subscriptions, Gift Aid, donations (e.g. sale of plants) and events (e.g. Murder Mystery Evening, Quiz Night, Bridge Afternoon, Informal concert). Friends also give practical support to Welcare in Bromley when needed, for example, by delivering harvest gifts donated by the churches, by helping in the office and in other ways as needed. A newsletter (Welcare in Bromley Link) is sent out three times a year, to which the Friends contribute a page giving information about past and future events.
