Welcare in Richmond
Welcare in Richmond is one of eight centres run by Welcare. We provide supportive and creative opportunities for children, families and young people incorporating emotional and practical support.
We are a Children's Centre for St Margaret’s, Twickenham and Teddington.
Through the centre and our outreach work we reach people who are hard to engage in other settings.
Our family support provides group work and one-to-one with families’ children 0-18 years – offering help with behaviour management, emotional problems and parenting skills. We also help families access other services in the area.
Parenting programmes follow recognised models such as Strengthening Families and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. Our goal is to help families find sustainable solutions to the challenges they face.
We also run specialist groups on topics such as stress management, self-esteem and interview skills, meditation and relaxation.
We also run groups for fathers, grandparents and women who have experienced domestic abuse.
Our dance movement therapist offers families one-to-one sessions and also group work.
We are a Children’s Centre for St Margaret’s, Twickenham and Teddington, providing support to families with children aged 0 – 5 years.
We offer integrated universal services including childcare, early learning, child/family health services, family support, outreach services, training opportunities and support to further education.
We also offer weekly stay and play sessions, baby massage, pilates for new mums, toddler dance, and relaxation, learning together group and young parents groups.
A free crèche is available for children under five whose parents are using our services.
